bmi diamond club - Am I missing out by collecting miles on Lufthansa card?

Hi,
I was wondering, whether you knew this...
I fly BMI a lot for some long-haul routes, however, I am currently collecting these miles onto my Lufthansa card where I am silver. I believe I once registered for a BMI card, but have 0 miles...
If I collected BMI miles onto the BMI card, would I get more miles/status?
If so, how can I switch my miles from Lufty to BMI?
Any help much appreciated.
You cannot transfer miles from LH to BD - they are stuck with whichever card you put them on. With Star Alliance airlines, you can claim miles on any * flight on any * frequent flyer scheme. Which one is best for you depends on what you want to get, what your flyer patterns are and a range of other personal things. If you usually fly in economy and fly enough to get to silver status, then you're probably best off joining the programme of the airline you fly with most often as that's the only one you'll get lounge access for. If you fly enough to get to gold (or fly in premium cabins) then lounge access is available on all * airlines, so you'd then want to start looking at earning and redemption rates.

Thank you.
Do I collect the exact same amount of miles for BMI flights, on BD or LH card?

No. I suggest you take a look at BD's earning chart (https://www.flybmi.com/bmi/src/html/diamondclubhowtoearnmiles.html) and M&M's page on earning miles (http://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/uk/earn/flight?l=en&cid=1000243).
Also make sure to compare their burning/spending tables.

I only fly domestic BD a few times a year on cheapest available tickets. :o Until recently an E class domestic flight on BD earned 500 miles with M&M and 300 miles with DC, but just before my last BD flight I noticed that an E class domestic flight now only earns125 miles with M&M but sitll earns 300 miles with DC. Needless to say I credited the last two BD flights in E to my DC account. You can argue 300 DC miles are worth more than 500 M&M miles for redemption but that's another topic.
As Mr H has pointed out if you fly enough to get to silver status but not to gold status you are probably best off joining the programme of the airline you fly with most often as that's the only one you'll get lounge access for.
In your case although you are LH FTL (Silver) if you fly mostly from LHR on BD in Y you are not getting access to a BD lounge. Time for a rethink. ;)
