Hello There,
If I book Z5 ro Z3 flight via Z1, will it be calculcated as regular Z5 to Z3 flight or as Z5 to Z1 to Z3 flight?
By the way - Can I order the reward flight althought I dont have enought miles for that right now, and pay with the miles when I have them (which will be 2 months before the flights)?
THX in advance.
You'll be charged as Z5 to Z3 (not Z5 to Z1 to Z3) but you can't book until you have sufficient miles.
Remember you can buy up to 19,000 miles...

Is this true even when both the start and end points are outside Europe? ISTR people mentioning before that the rules page isn't completely accurate on this one...
It also might be worth pointing out that you can do Z5-Z3 with a free Z2 stop: i.e. Z5-Z2 + Z2-Z3 is the same number of miles as Z5-Z3 directly. As well as giving you a psuedo-stopover in Z2 there's then scope to find other interesting stopovers for each of those flights too.

Yes it is true. It isn't that the rules page is out of date, but that the rule itself is rather outdated and really should be changed, but hasn't been.

What's worse is they unofficially relaxed the rule, in cases like that, for a few months a couple of years ago then began enforcing it again.
