In support of the The Coin Act of 2005 I think it is about time that we assess the contribution of the flyertalk community to increase the circulation of $1 coins from the US Mint. Sadly the native american coin deal appears to be over.
My personal contribution is

$77250

Please post how much you have contributed to circulation and add up the new total.

And surely you meant this as a jest. Because it's very funny.

Of what I have purchased, We have used $5500 as change in our business and I have used over $2K at lottery, drive thrus, parking, and other purchases, always keeping the ashtray in the car full of them. Yes, some have gone to the bank, but I do try to actually use them. At the business which is on an indian reservation we try to use the NA's, women love them and buy more for the kids, men hate them and think they are quarters, some even refusing them, so I threaten to give them quarters! Any dollar bills that come in go to the bank, being put below the drawer with the big bills, forcing the use of the coins. As a small business that is 80% credit card sales we still go through about 2 rolls a day. If all merchants would do this besides Disney World and I alot more would circulate! BTW we only received 1 coin in all summer that was not from me!

PS. The native coins are not over, Disney World ordered a massive amount to give out as change starting in November, they just need to restock or come out with next years coin.

I'm not going to get into the debate of whether this thread should exist or not, and the preference is others do not also. However people are more than welcome to post in the master thread their accomplishments. There is no need for it to be posted separately.
