According to Crackberry.com (http://crackberry.com/verizon-blackberry-storm-9530-owners-get-os-5-0-0-328-update-october-25th), the new OS, v5.0.0.328, gets released on Sunday.
No OTA immediately, gotta hook up to the ol' internet for it.
Wonder if it's coincidental with the purported release date of October 28th for the Storm 2?

My cousin just upgraded it from a leak on CB. Ill get his thoughts in a few days. VZW is going to launch some cool phones around thanksgiving time. I think 3 google droid type phones plus others.

Actually, that leak is v.323. The VZW release will be .328.
Yes, Verizon is releasing a few phones. Storm 2 is reportedly coming out on Wednesday. Droid supposedly on November 6th.
Droid will be CDMA-only, no world phone. Will wait until 2010 on that one to see if they'll release a world phone.

This is *great* news! The last official update made the phone much more stable so I am hoping this one takes it up another few notches.

Version 5.0 is a much greater change than any previous updates (all released OS'es for the Storm have been 4.7). I just updated my Bold to 5.0 yesterday and am very pleased. Faster response and cleaner interface, browser improvements, and improvements to all sorts of minutia.
