InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - End of Year 2009 Posting Question

I am PC Gold member very close to Platinum. I have a HIX reserved, checking out on Dec 30, 2009. The points + bonus from this stay would put me over the top for platinum.

By checking out on Dec 30, I know the points from this stay won't post until about Jan 4, 2010. Do those points count towards Platinum status in 2009 because the stay was in '09, or do they count towards Gold/Plat status in 2010 because that is when they post?

Any info is helpful. Just trying to decide if I need to earn the points elsewhere to get Platinum status by the end of the year. Thanks in advance!

Last year I was going to 400 points short for Platinum so, being so close, signed up for the credit card to make sure.

Ended up getting sent 2 platinum cards and letters
1) congratulations making platinum
2) "you were so close we decided to give you it anyway.."

not sure how often that happens

Interesting. I wonder how "close" you have to be.
