From this Sunday, Dragon Air's check in counters will move back to isle H, where they were before they were moved to D shortly after being bought by CX around two years ago. This is to ease pedestrian traffic and encourage people to use the G16 lounge.
encourage people to use the G16 lounge.this is an interesting point, never thought about this...but I think this could be quite true indeed...

From Asia Miles, the press release on KA seems to have deleted the G16 lounge and congestion parts. Effective 25 October 2009, the Dragonair check-in counters at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Terminal 1 will move from Aisle D to Aisle H. The relocation will ease the congestion of passengers and baggage at HKIA, as well as provide easier access to the G16 Lounge.

If only the KA gates were consistently nearby...Nothing against the G16 lounge as such.

They used to be at F, (uselessly) halfway between North and South immigration.
