Other North & South America Frequent Flyer Programs - Petroleum explosion initially reported as Sprit 837 crashes in SJU

Spirit Airlines#837 crashes to be descent approach into SJU. So NTSB will have more investigate to trying to figuring it out in SJU tonight. So the plane is explosions over runs into SJU.

Very sad news. I hope they find survivors

The "explosion" apparently occurred at/near the Caribbean Petroleum Corporation (CAPECO) facility.

Flightstats is showing NK837 as landed, 22 minutes late.

Although I'm not saying this isn't a crash, it's a little early to be spreading what appear to be unconfirmed rumors.

It seems possible that an error has been made. There appears to have been a refinery explosion rather than an aircrash . At this stage , other than the single news story quoted above no mention has been made of an aircraft . Other sites have reported that the flight mentioned in the original news story has in fact safely landed and as at the gate at SJU .

Hopefully it is 'only' a refinery explosion and hopefully casualties will be minimal .
