Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Enough is enough! Somebody at AS explain ... game is up with F seats!

ok once again this crap comes up! AS 100 ANC-SEA 16 open F no F for purchase and no U seats open!!!!??? This is a trend! What the hecks going on #$#)#! Why do I and others keep seeing this crap!? I want to buy a dang F seat to hit gold for 2010 yet I cant and there are 16 fricken seats open! Can some AS employee who reads this forum tell us w t h is going on recently? :mad: :(

I understand if u aint open on a blackout day but Im sitting here willing and able to pay for a dang F seat at full price and it aint an option even though seat map shows all 16 seats wide open

I did a quick search and AS 100 was bookable for 12/24 in F.

Give it another try, I used the low fare calendar option.

hmm I will try it but still there is some glitch in the AS site system not selling F when its wide open :confused: It aint just this time Ive seen it. Just the only time Ive actually wanted to buy it :D

I know the feeling, two days ago; I was looking for a one-way trip from LAX-ROC on one of those midnight-2am departures. ITA and Kayak were constantly showing $130-$150 fares on NW/AA. Either Everytime I clicked on those flights the airline's website or travel sites would say, "Oh sorry due to changes in availability this fare is no longer available, new fare is $215". What's more, I found the $150 fare on AA and after giving my CC info, their site will say oh sorry this fare is not available. It was so frustrating and a bit aggravating in some way. I am a college student and am a cheapskate when it comes to flying :p

i just did it too.

select low fare calendar, then check the "show me first class" option and the flight will come up.

I've taken screen shots and reported the glitch.

I ended up going to MKE via AS104 friday and back to ANC on AS131 on monday. Didnt have much in the way of free time :o Bob lives 3 blocks away so one of these days we can do something when it all works out :)

But yes, AS still needs more of your $$$ (and mine)... :D so do book the elusive F seat... and another for your carryon baggage :D

I was trying to buy F for SEA-SNA-SEA last week for a nonMVP/G and all it showed was U open on every flight. Every fare class was available except for paid F.

Last week I was locked out of buying an F on MIA-SEA even though the seat map showed 9 seats open. F is available for purchase today.

Welcome to Flyertalk and the Alaska Airlines forum shuckit. This is indeed odd behavior... glad you found a decent seat... if you really want F you could buy up to that fare... but who knows, your upgrade may clear as well :D

Was looking at ANC-CUN possibly... its really fun trying to find space in F for 4 pax on the same flights :eek:

Thanks for the warm welcome, I find FT a great resource. BTW, I got upgraded to F on the MIA-SEA anyway, so it all worked out for me in the end even though AS lost some revenue.

Glad it worked out for you in the long run ^ (Was on that flight MIA-SEA in March... ugh in Y :() so much nicer in F...
