oneworld - choices for J award carrier: BA v. QF and RJ v. CX

I'm sure I would be happy with any of these options since I always fly in Coach, but I'm going to be traveling on a J award and have some choices to make. We are 2 traveling together which I think makes a difference in some cases. So, who's got better booze, food, IFE, 'soft' product? Thanks!
1. SYD-BKK, daytime flight: BA10 (B744) or QF01 (B744).
2. BKK-HKG, early evening flight: RJ182 (A310) or CX (A330/B773/B744).
I'm leaning toward BA and RJ. Also, as AA PLT, how difficult is it to score the optimal seats for couples on BA? Are they reserved only for BA elites?
Flights are end of next summer; I have to book by 10/26.

As a single flyer I'd choose BA over QF, and CX over RJ. However as a couple I'd probably make the same choice as you (ie BA & RJ)

QF in J you sit side by side - this is possible on BA but harder.

I would go for QF and RJ.
QF allows you do sit side by side next to the window which BA doesn't have. IFE is a bit better on QF IMHO, too. Service is not much different on the two and one can be better than the other depending on the crew you have.
If you can find a way somehow to get into the F Lounge in SYD you will be amazed, it is one of the best experiences ever.
For BKK-HKG I would prefer RJ for the excellent service they offer.

am now successfully confirmed on BA10 and RJ182. The QF01 options had quickly disappeared by the time I was ticketing so my decision was easy.
Now I have to figure out how to get the best seats for a couple on BA10. Sounds like those would be row 64AB, seats 13EF or 14EF, right?

Unless you have status with BA or are a OW emerald you will have to wait until 24 hours before check-in to go online and choose seats. The prime seats are often gone.
Just enjoy the experience anyway!

Really? Because just a little while ago I went to "Manage My Booking" at BA.com and the seat map for that flight came up, showing the available/unavailable and gave every indication we could change our seats. We are both AA PLT, OW Sapphire. We have 17AB right now, but the whole upper deck was wide open except 64A. When my travel partner comes back, we'll try changing them - any tips on best seats still welcome!

64AB/JK or 62 AB/JK - easy access for the window pax to the aisle. Best seats in the house.
