Air New Zealand Air Points - Definition of a "Journey" for Status Points

I understand and know that NZ credits AP$ and status points based on the total journey flown (in most cases), rather than on separate flight segments. My question is one for domestic smart saver fares where only status points are earned:
I have two separate bookings with two separate PNR's:
1. DUD-CHC-DUD
2. CHC-AKL-CHC
All four flights are on the same day and the flight order goes DUD-CHC-AKL-CHC-DUD. Now does this mean that I will only get 24 status points? One for the journey DUD-CHC-AKL and another for journey AKL-CHC-DUD?
Has anyone had any success with calling NZ and arguing that because the flights are on separate tickets then there should be 4x 12 SP's credited?

It sounds like it should be 48SC
I got 24SC for doing NZ525 connection to NZ524 on the same PNR. So technically that was single journey as I was connection straight onto another flight.
Anyone read the T&C on this? I just had a quick look & I cant even find the T&C for status credits!

If it is any help, in early Sep i travelled AKL-WLG then WLG -CHC then CHC-DUD then DUD-CHC then CHC-WLG then WLG-AKL all in one day on 6 different bookings. for this day I was credited 72 status points.

Wow, how many separate tickets were there? If not mistaken it proves that NZ no longer follows the "journey" concept. Same thing happened to me on my BNE-AKL-PVG trip where I was credited on per sector basis.

Hmmm ... this may explain some things ... I was not going to advertise.

NZ doesn't base the earning on single ticket. They do adjust earning across multiple tickets. It is one of the more annoying aspects of Airpoints.

Lucky you. Watch out for an earnings adjustment.

A friend just saw this post and mentioned on two occasions in July he had four separately ticketed bookings on the one day earning him 48 status points for each day. I am sure they would have been adjusted by now if that were going to be. He just showed me them in myairNZ and he is legit.

I wasn't questioning your example. Just pointing out my personal experience. Earning adjustments can be done a long time after the flights.

KF is absolutely correct... I imagine I am far from the only Airpoints member who's "account summary" is a confusing mess... with numerous adjustments/reversals.. sometimes then adjusted again!
Back on topic..... As serfty says...Seems it is truly a YMMV situation.
This year I have had classic journey based crediting... AND segment by segment crediting which by the nature of things is of course more generous....
Beats the hell out of me....;)

I find that the adjusting and recrediting had stopped sometime ago. I am not sure when your last adjustment occurred but it has not happened to me for a long time now.
