Air New Zealand Air Points - Two Questions Re Air New Zealand

What Status should it show on Air New Zealand Gold Elite Boarding passes, NZ*G or NZ*E ?
I have had one pass reprinted to show NZ*E but have since been told that that was in error and the highest tier shown should be NZ*G if you are Gold or Gold Elite.
We recently booked Bus class on Star Alliance airlines from Christchurch to Prague on Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa.
The Lufthansa flight was cancelled and Lufthansa rebooked us on Czech airlines but we have not been credited any Status or Airpoints for that flight.
I realise that Czech airlines are not Star Alliance members but we paid Bus class fares should we have received points for that flight?

I think it should show NZ*GE or NZ*E (Kiwiflyer can confirm)
The LH one is interesting, give AP a call and find out what the rules are about this.

I would contact LH asking for the Airpoints.

I have only seen my Gold Elite status shown as NZ*E on a domestic sector a few years ago. It has been always just NZ*G for a long time now. All other *A carriers will identify you as NZ*G only too.

This reflects my recent experiences as well.

I'm a brand new "*E" and have only seen *G on BP's since hitting that level...
In fact at LAX the Lounge Lady (certainly no dragon!:D) actually asked if I was Gold or Gold Elite... I think they had about 20 of us trying for Standby upgrades that night... THAT was a worry IMO!

Well man! Show both your BP and your GE card on entry.
It's only ever shown NZ*G on the boarding pass for me (when NZ*E). It does cause confusion for ground staff.
On the manifest it will show NZ*E or 'GOLD ELITE'.

Welcome to Flyer Talk smandkjc :)
For domestic it is ages since I've had a BP (thanks to epass). For international NZ issued BP shows NZ*G (from a couple of days ago).
For the flight cancellation you will need to make a manual credit for original routing credit. NZ will need to get a copy of your boarding pass and ticket. They will then confirm with LH the involuntary reroute and you'll get the points as if you flew LH.
For savvy flyers in this situation, a skyteam card would have been presented to OK's check in agent to get credit on a skyteam FFP as well ;)

LH will not be able to help. NZ will sort this out with LH once NZ has received all the documentation from the OP.

Hi smandkjc,
The same thing happened to me last year - was flying BUD-MAN (via MUC) in paid Biz on LH, LH flight was cancelled and the rebooking was on Malev to Prague then CSA (Czech Airlines) on to Manchester (all also in Biz). I dropped an email to the Airpoints elite team, including a scan of my Malev and CSA BPs, and I was credited points as if I'd flown Lufthansa shortly afterwards.
BTW Malev and CSA were both fantastic in Biz, especially considering the length of the flights (1 hour and ca 2 hours). Food served over several courses, hot meals, great wines and service. Lounge in Prague was also excellent.
Cheers, Zac

Have now been credited for both Airpoints dollars and Status points on MyAirnz activity schedule but they did not get added to the status points total.
