According to the Aviation Herald, a passenger attempted Egyptair flight 738 (TBA-CAI) by turning a table knife served with a meal into a weapon. Security officers onboard subdued the passenger, and there were no further incidents onboard. The man was later identified as a Sudanese Citizen traveling on a fake passport.

I think it was only a matter of time before something like this was bound to happen, but now that it has happened, does anyone think that this might be the beginning of the end of table knives on flights?

Granted, for some meals we do need knives, but not really on airplanes, except in first or business class...but still.

I'm glad he got some enjoyment from the meal.
