Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding my Amex Corporate card. So I have the basic Green Corporate Amex with Membership Rewards. I was interested in seeing if anyone has been able to convert one of those into a Platinum Corporate Amex and if that is possible.
If that is possible, what have you seen in the benefits? Right now I am just interested in the ability to access airport lounges and what not, but have you seen any others being a frequent business traveler? Also, in the grand scheme of things is it really worth the money?

You may receive more relevant replies if you clarify your capacity. Is your Corporate card provided by your employer, or are you the corporate officer who manages the card program?

I'll take a stab at this...
At one former place of employment we were given the option to "upgrade" our Amex corporate card to Gold or Green. As with the MR fee, all fees were not reimbursable.
Given that I have a personal plat (and additional cards for the family) I didn't see any value in the upgrade.
Another former employer did not allow the upgrade option.
So I'd guess at the end of the day whether you can upgrade is between your employer and Amex. Assuming you'll foot the bill regardless, why not just get a personal one and link both cards to one MR program?

Thanks mbreuer!
Yeah, I probably need to take this up with my employer. I already foot the bill for the Green cards membership rewards ($75/yr). The reason I would prefer to upgrade this card rather than getting a personal one and linking membership reward programs is that I use this card for business travel expenses. The charges to the card flow into our online expense system which makes it much easier for me to do my expense reports.
Since this card alread has membership rewards I thought I might as well just pay a little more and make it a platinum. I do not necessarily want to get another AmEx personal card, but it seems like an interesting solution. Hopefully I can just upgrade this card and get it that way.

Right... you don't switch cards, you get a personal card for personal expenses and use the business card for business expenses. They share the same MR account, and you use the Plat benefits as appropriate. Benefits that only happen when you place a charge on the specific card (rental insurance; ticket insurance; warranty, etc.) should be your employers issue for business expenses.
