Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - ASIA AIR MILES QUERY - think this is the right thread!

Ooops, I'm new to this and just posted it in the Buzz area - but think this is the right one. My query is....
I've found the Asia Air Miles scheme unfathomable. I've tried a number of times to work out how much it would cost to transfer my husbands air miles over to me (we both have around 26,000 each). But their web site sends me round and round in circles. My goal is to find out what flights or benefits the total of 54,000 could get. But there was nothing simple on their web site, no easy table/calculator where I could pull up how many air miles I'd need to get from London to Sydney, say.

Each time I try the site I come away more frustrated than the time before and no clearer. Has anyone got any idea at all, please, of how much it would cost to transfer my husbands 26k over to me and then what I could use the total of 54,000 towards?

Your help would be very much appreciated

The flight award calculator is here: http://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/redeem/flightawardfinder?WAright=TopNavFlightAwardFinder

Asia miles cost 180USD to transfer the first 10000, with it being 150USD every 5000 miles thereafter. Therefore, I'd say it's totally not worth transferring 26000 miles from his account to yours...

If you're looking for non-flight awards, just look under lifestyle award finder under redeem miles.

Anyway, welcome to FT

They should be relatively easy to find.

Asia Miles transfer:
https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/about/features/transfer
It favours small transfers of 10,000 miles each. Anyway, I think it is too expensive.

Flight award charts:
https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/redeem/charts
If you do not have enough miles, you can top up.

You need to be careful. It is possible that after you do the transfers, the award you want may not be unavailable.

I suspect OP was talking about this UK-based Airmiles (http://www.airmiles.co.uk/travel/home.do) instead of CX Asia Miles. That's why she had such a difficult time locating info.

Everything Asia Miles is quite clear from Asiamiles' website (https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/homepage). It shouldn't be that hard to find and figure out the flight award charts.

If that's the case, BA will be better home for OP's questions.
