Ah, emulating G4 again, I see!

I think it is a good financial move for AirTran to avoid serving ATL from new stations and start out with Florida point-to-point markets. LEX to FLL and MCO isn't going to have head-to-head competition with Delta. (Look at what happened in CHS, where Delta has triple the number of daily flights to ATL as AirTran and matches the AirTran fare...AirTran doesn't make enough money and pulls out of the market).

Back to the future. The casual traveler. If this is there new growth plan, go steal Allegiants top 5 markets.

I just think they should decide who they are as an airline. And if they're going to grow this G4-style model, why not make those ops a separate brand/division?

I feel the same way about WN's recent behavior, basically abandoning the model that made them "different" (and so successful), and acting more like legacy carriers by going into the congested, delay-prone airports rather than the nearby less-used airports with non-existent delays. And, they're not nearly as often the lowest-fare airline on a given route, as you could always count on before.
