Heading to Vegas in about a month for business meeting and staying at Bally's for one night. Anyone stayed there lately? What are the rooms like?

Thanks

Think 1980's.... ;)

They also have some especially 1980's pimp daddy duplex suites.

IIRC, North Tower rooms and suites are the more desirable.

I've always asked for, and gotten, "north tower, high floor, pool view" ... they've all been similar:

I have a meeting at Paris. Is it feasible to stay at Bally's and go through the walkway to the meeting rooms at Paris? How long would it take to walk from the North Tower elevators to the Paris meeting rooms?

Quite feasible. Might take you 10 minutes to walk.

We stayed at Ballys last October. Room seemed okay but do not recall it giving me a feeling of 80s nostalgia.

Location is good. Rooms are not bad.. depends what tower you are in. However, even in the North Tower YMMV... see this (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12614196-post776.html).

Everyone, thanks for your comments. Love the location. But considering it'll be my first night away from an 8 week old baby, I was hoping for something comfortable and hope to get more than 8 hours sleep. Who'd think I'd have to go Vegas to get a good night sleep?

The Bally's rooms (at least the North Tower ones) are supposedly the largest regular (non-suite) rooms on the strip. I think they come out at 450 sq ft. My buddy and I go out to Vegas every year for the SuperBowl and have stayed here the last 2 years because it gives us a bigger room. The Sports Book at Ballys is also pretty neat for watching a game.

The only knock on Ballys, from the rooms, it is a bit of a walk to just get to the Strip. It has some moving walkways and such, but it is still a bit of time.

The Bally's Sportsbook was closed all summer. Anyone know if it reopened?

The SportsBook reopened the opening weekend of NFL season in September (I was there). They said it was being remodeled, but I did not see anything different from the previous year at the SuperBowl.

Thought it was very strange that they closed it. Given its location, I think most tourists would have no idea its there. Glad to hear its back.
