Having flown two long round trips with Emirates in the last 1 month, my wife and I quickly became silver members in the first sector of the 2nd trip. After learning to navigate through skywards FFP, I was able to grab a pair of business class tickets on upgrade from DXB to JFK which was a nice surprise. The EK business more than surpassed our expectations.
Since yesterday afternoon, FEDEX kept on calling me and leaving me messages saying they have two packages to be immediately delivered. Apparently Emirates had fedexed something while we were away and they could not deliver them due to our absence in the country.
When I opened them, what a nice surprise!!! A small leather picture frame and two baggage tags along with skyward silver card. Just brilliant. The cost of fedex alone would have been more expensive than the gifts. Believe me, I am not complaining and honestly I truly appreciate their efforts. Fantastic.
In this age of fiercely competitive airline business, it's this kind of little things that will really win over customers. I have heard many complaints about EK lately but so far I can only recommend this great airline. No more Qantas, CX, or AA on long legs for us. We will be flying two more round trip from US until the end of this year, and I have no doubt which airline carrier I will choose.
