American Express Membership Rewards - Just wondering about Amex/Flights

I am wondering why Platinum card holders who pay $450 a year, dont get a free coach companion ticket upon renewal when other, less expensive cards do. Does anyone know anything about this or if this will change?

Which cards provide a companion ticket on renewal? If these are credit cards linked to Delta Skymiles that's a benefit negotiated between Delta and their card issuer (which happens to be American Express). All of the co-branded affinity credit cards offer rewards and benefits which are not mirrored in the charge cards.
