The MoneyBack card is the "loyalty programme" of ParkN'Shop, Taste, and a few more.

1K AM for 500HKD+ transaction, Max 5K miles per day ... quite hefty promotion I guess ...
The terms dont seem sufficiently clear... does this mean if one spends 2.5K HKD in one day I can get 5K AM in one go? Or do you have to make 5 separate transactions each with 500HKD minimum?
Then for arguments sake, spend 2.5K HKD each day to get 5K miles every day!!??!!
(no really, I'm not insane! :p)

Just re-read and it says:
"A total of 1,000 Asia Miles will be given in each single transaction. Splitting of transaction will not be accepted. *Each Asia Miles member can earn up to 5,000 Asia Miles per day."
That seems to imply that you must go to the check out a total of 5 times (each with 500HKD min spend) to get the 5K miles per day.
Illogical!

Why it doesn't make sense? And how is this related to HK?
I think the rule "splitting bill is not allowed" makes sense... It's business after all.

Does it mean I can not combine two bills (say $250 each) to make $500?
Or does it mean I can not split a $2000 shopping in two transactions? If so, how can one member possible gain more than 1000 AM in one day, let alone 5000 as stipulated by the rules?

Depends - if you're the type that lives of food bought in Great including all the fancy stuff (caviar, foie gras, champagne, etc) and staples that could be bought at half the price elsewhere, and are yet prepared to break your shopping up into 5 times a day, every day chunks then you could just about manage it.

2500 HKD * 28 days = 70,000 HKD
5000 AM * 28 days = 140,000 AM
So... 2 AM/HKD
Combine with CX Amex... 70,000 HKG * (1 AM/8 HKD) = 8750 AM (17,500 if you have double miles promo)
Total: 148,750 AM or 157,500 AM for 70,000 HKD.
Up to 2.25 AM/HKD. Pretty good!
And oh yeah + LOTS and LOTS of food and stuff (but who needs that anyway? ;))
(just kidding)

Does anyone know how long it takes for a MoneyBack card to be issued? Is it issued right away or does it take weeks? Thanks.

CX AMEX is not the most cost effecient card out there, and does anyone know about the refund policy of PnS?
btw, i've stumbled across the stanchard site saying the 2X AMEX points cap is waived if you are a priority member yesterday.... but i cant find it again now.

If you double this up with the DBS Amex promo of at least HK$4 per 1AM, even more possibilities.
However its quite a bit of legwork.
I'm lucky to even do HK$500 shopping a week, let alone a day.

At least they limit you at 5 transactions per day.
In U.S. there are regularly promotions where a customer receives only 1 unit of reward (not miles) per each transaction, without daily limit. Now, imagine what it's like to have to deal with 50 or more transactions in a row. Takes cashiers 1 to 2 hrs to ring, and ring, and ring. Rewards are worth it though.

Just walk into any Hutchison Whamopa-owned retail chains and apply for the MoneyBack card on the spot, and they will give you one.

hmm
thinking about it, these miles would well worth the money when bought at the peak of times (70000 HKD for 150000 AM) and J to london when there isnt I/D ticket is close to 60000 HKD for return (120000 AM, or 105000 if you are creative). Plus, if you like it, you have 70000HKD worth of goodies!

I just read HK magazine and Park'n Shop has it on printed ad together with wine promotion... *(do remember GREAT is exculded for wine)
So I think it is really valid for the 5000 AM per day (well I will print the T&C now :p), what I personally think for the "no splitting" term is actually meaning you cannot buy a HKD 1000 product and request the cashier to split it into 2 HKD 500 invoice .... (which happened to my friends before at Fotress when HSBC doing their "Red Friday Promotion", netting 200 HKD rebate for HKD 2K purchase using 2 cards)

So, can you buy $500 at lunch time and $500 after work from the same store? For the sake of arguement - at a different till.
I agree whoever drafted the T&C didn't have their brain switched on.

Yeah, the wording of the T&Cs is poor, but I agree with your interpretation.

That's correct. And you don't need a different till.
(I've actually walked around P&S with my mobile phone calculating everything item that I put into the trolley to ensure that day's shopping "just" exceeds HKD 500).
Actually this isn't too difficult. With Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year coming up, 3-4 bottles of wine can easily hit HKD 500 a pop. Buy in advance, and make use of free delivery!
