Is there any free wi-fi available at BOM's domestic & international terminals (land side)? I did a web search, but the info appears to be quite old - so any recent experience would be very useful.

No free wi-fi, unless things have changed in the last two months. But I think there's a paid service.

Eh - how about the airtel wifi where you can enter your cellphone # and get an SMS back with your password?

Yup, you can plug in a foreign or local mobile, receive user and pswd and get an hour for free.

Also in DEL. And BLR...actually, coming to think of it, I don't exactly remember if BOM had the airtel wifi thing...sorry...but DEL and BLR def do...I know this isn't helpful to the OP.

I've used the Airtel wifi in the old IT lounge in BOM 1A domestic, so it was accessible from the departures level landside. Haven't used it in other parts of the terminal though. The Clipper lounge in 1A (access through IT or Priority Pass) has free wifi from Kingfisher that requires a WEP security code.

And the 9W lounge on the upper level airside (one level above the gates, reached from a staircase at the side of the hall .. its only for plats, though an AF plat card got me through too) .. that too has free wifi and a couple of Macs bolted to the floor for people to surf on.

At Terminal 2... No.

EDIT: That's airside - not sure about landside, but probably no.

Arrived at the 9W domestic terminal, baggage hall. No public wi-fi (free or paid), but there were three grubby Airtel stand-up kiosks that were free. Didn't help me though, since I really needed to connect my laptop.

After a long wait, got shuttled to the International Terminal. Landside, around Gate H (DL, NW, KQ check in desks), there was again no wi-fi signal. Airside, I was given a pass to the Clipper Lounge (run by the Oberois), opposite Gate 14; they did have wi-fi but wanted Rs 250 for 1 Hr or Rs 500 for 24 hrs. But since the Oberois are so generous, there is also a gratis offer available - for all of 10 minutes!

So much for Wi-Fi in BOM...

PS. Incidentally, I doubt if there was a separate 9W lounge at this terminal, since they were constantly paging for 9W pax to London who were lingering a little too long at the Clipper Lounge

Yea thats pretty much how it works sometimes...even if offered, doesn't mean it works...or if it works, doesn't mean as offered....

I just wasted a day trying to buy a plane ticket on AI to Colombo tomorrow morning and they made it impossible to buy it...no answering of phones for 4 to 5 hours (literally called 20x), impossible office hours after I actually got thru (got thru too late)...no chance to buy tix tomm morning at airport...impossible online booking less than 24 hrs before flight...runaround from DEL office on tix and how to buy. Sigh, I gave up and will be here for the weekend. I do not see how AI will survive like this...I begged them to let me give them money, in any class, for a ticket tomorrow morning, didn't work out.

I called 2 TAs who never called me back as Sri Lankan was full and so was Jet or whatever...they were supposed to speak to Sri Lankan to check the "on request" status.

Sigh.

.

Thanks for the update. That doesn't sound too good. I'm flying Kingfisher out of BOM intl on Sunday, and they probably use the Clipper Lounge as well. I think I'll mosey on over to the new BA Galleries lounge to see if they free wifi there.

I'm sat in the BA Galleries lounge in BOM right now and they have free wifi. Does have a monthly password, but shouldn't be too hard to crack, if you know what I mean.

PS. Incidentally, I doubt if there was a separate 9W lounge at this terminal, since they were constantly paging for 9W pax to London who were lingering a little too long at the Clipper Lounge9w does not have a dedicated lounge in the international terminal - it was planned for, but due to the financial difficulties, they did not go ahead with this - understand that they were alloted the largest space available in the airport, but then couldn't go ahead with it...

Sigh.AI - love it! :p

I would not fly them under *any* circumstances!

So besides the BA lounge, there is no wifi airside at terminal 2b and/or 2c?

Also no wifi landside at terminal 2?

And I am assuming this: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News/News_By_Industry/Transportation/Airlines__Aviation/Free_wi-fi_at_Mumbai_airport_/articleshow/1947218.cms

is no longer available?
