Southwest Rapid Rewards - Deal dead: Can Southwest match this fare? Or this creativity?

I am very impressed with this degree of creativity from JetBlue's marketing people. More free publicity (at the cost of offering those low fares for half a day).

It must be a light load day for them, I can still book the ORD - LGB for $31. My brother had booked SJC - LAX on WN but I after I told him about the sale, he changed his flight to SJC - LGB. Saved him $50.

How soon people forget. Search this forum for Halloween Ding. There was a one-day $31 Ding in 2007.
ETA: I needed to look more closely at the "every remaining seat" aspect of this; yes, interesting.

The return trip is expensive though.

$100 change fee just sounds "weird" on a $31 fare. They should have simply said ticket is forfeited if not used as booked -- there's no logic in paying $100 to recover $31.

I've seen very low fares pretty much across the board for Halloween weekend.
I will be taking advantage of the fact that parents would rather trick-or-treat with their kids on that day in the form of a $44 flight to MDW, then Amtrak to MKE for the 11/1 city opening.

What really surprised me was that at the witching hour, last night, there was still BOS-SFO/LAX, and the reverse, transcon availability. A transcon for $41 ai. A great reason to spend a .5 Rapid Reward for the opposite direction. Bravo to JetBlue and Southwest for making this possible. (Did look around for Southwest to match, but oh, well.)

"This promotion has ended"
(What's that, about 18 hours?) (from post, I accept that it could have been out there longer... ;) )

Put another way, as I futzed with possible trips, and the $31 portal started listing sold-out flights, they were all up and down the eastern seaboard. Otherwise, it was the deal of the year - not counting mistake fares - but they were not filling planes. (Of course, it WAS just one-way, which may have befuddled people who didn't think of Southwest - free or fare - for a return.)

Can Ding fares be displayed and booked from the standard web site or must you use links provided by the Ding application? How often will Ding typically update out of a city? I just don't like having a lot of background programs running on the pc.
Also agree it was creative of B6 along with the All You Can Jett pass. I probably would have booked the AYCJ but I found the change/cancel provisions too onerous. B6 used to have a very good standby policy but now it is worse than even legacies and especially worse for elites on legacy carriers.
I'll be traveling on 10/31 and I checked B6 but there was not a late enough flight so I will just stay over and keep my WN flight for 11/1.

You need a Ding URL to access Ding sales. You don't need the Ding application. Send a PM to curbcrusher and he will set you up.
