Emirates Airlines Skywards - Targeted Promo: Fall 2009 US Bonus Miles for Blue Members

Skywards has offered a targeted promo for US members who are blue who complete a trip between now (10/20/2009) and December 10th 2009 (return home by 12/10/2009).

I suspect those blue members with US addresses received this offer in the morning.

You will receive minimum 25k total miles for an Economy Trip and minimum 35k total miles for a First/Business trip.

I am disappointed they are forcing the return to be before 12/10/2009 (avoid all peak season travel) rather than require at least the outbound to be before 12/10/2009. I can imagine only those who have entirely off-season travel planned will benefit from this promotion.

Conditions: http://www.skywards.com/standardpopup.aspx?ID=tcm:136-511716

I have the campaign code, but because there is no sign-up page aside from clicking a special link in the targeted email -- I am not posting the code.

I just signed up yesterday as a brand new skywards member as I have a trip on EK coming up next week. Really hope I am eligible. If I don't get an email, can I contact them by phone and register?
Anyone else got this email?

Does it require registration? T&Cs don't mention anything.

This promotion is open to Skywards members who:

1. are a Blue card holder members on 20th October 2009
2. are resident in the United States of America
3. purchase a commercial ticket for a return journey between the United States of America and Dubai, or destinations beyond Dubai, on flights operated by Emirates
4. complete their entire journey between 00:00 hours on 20th October 2009 and 24:00 hours on 10th December 2009

Not bad indeed...

For 834,90 USD they will take you in Y from SFO to PVG.

That's about 560 EUR. Good fare.

Then, after you get back home, EK will credit you - if you were blue when you left - more than 25k (if tkt is booked online) miles + 25 bonus miles.

That's more than 50k miles.

If you hurry (before the devaluation on 01 JAN 2010), you can then redeem a transatlantic reward flight (e.g. SFO-CDG) with one of EK's codeshare partners like CO or UA.

To me this looks quite reasonable indeed... it's actually quite a bit of a promo!

If EK will post these bonus miles before 01 JAN 2010, that is...

There was a link to register on the email indicating that the program was not automatic. You can explain your circumstances and call Skywards and see if they will add your EK number to the promo.

Gutted this is just for US. I'm blue in the UK and could do with the miles!

Uh no, they will round your miles up to 25k minimum. Offer doesn't seem so good now, doesn't it? Even more silly on how they made the offer only for the non-peak season.

It appears that the title of this thread / OP might be completely wrong !!

According to the conditions as per the link:

A Skywards member who, at the discretion of Skywards, satisfies the conditions set out in clause 1 will be eligible for a minimum total of 25,000 Miles after flying one return trip in Economy Class, and eligible for a minimum total of 35,000 Miles after flying one return trip in Business Class or First Class. This is inclusive of any prevailing bonus Miles which are applied in addition to Miles normally earned in respect of the flight. Promotional bonus Miles do not contribute towards the tier mile account.

So which one is it: an up-rounded "minimum total", or genuine bonus miles??

Yep jumanji you get 35k as you booked business and you get the normal miles you would have got if there was no promo.

Still.. my grandmother was flying anyway.. so its a nice bonus.. 25k over 13k (since she is blue and rarely travels)..

but your right.. it doesn't seem so good now.. in other cases it may not be such a big deal.. especially if you would have earned ~20k anyway.

Yep jumanji you get 35k as you booked business and you get the normal miles you would have got if there was no promo.

actually it'd be 25k since the ticket was purchased in y and upgraded to biz.

I was not trying to intentionally mislead anyone, but a closer read definitely changed the interpretation of the promo as originally posted.

In any case, I have revised the first post and subsequent posts indicate the 25k min/35k min. For some, it might be a big bonus, if their otherwise miles would be a lot less than 25k, for others, the bonus to get to 25k would be a lot smaller.

just wanted to add..

grandmother made first trip.. and has 12,500 miles credited to her account.

while not a GREAT offer.. its still a very good one.. not something i'd go out of my way to do.. but if you already have plans.. the extra miles are great.

now i get miles back to upgrade 1 way to europe.

I have no idea if this is related but after a 4-sector RT of over 20K base miles I got two of the following - one for outbound and one for return:

Blues Fall Special Offer 4,450

No other bonuses (other than online booking) posted.

Any idea if this is related to this offer and if so why it's only 8900 miles?
