All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - Smart eCheck-in for Y - seats blocked?

I was just trying to complete the "Smart eCheck-in" for one of my upcoming flights on NH in Y. I noticed that many seats "appeared" to be "blocked", not sure. Any frequent NH flyers able to advise if NH routinely blocked seats and if so, when will these blocked seats be released? I am *G but I don't suppose that these seats are blocked for upper tier (e.g., *S and *G). Thanks.

Not sure which flight you are taking, but all exit rows plus bulkhead seats are blocked.

From my experience as a NH *G If I request the bulkhead seats in advance I would get the seat :)

NH909 from NRT to HKG.

It's interesting to see most seats in the front several rows with the window and aisle marked off as well as all the bulkheads and emergency exits. So I just selected what was available.

I am *G with AC but I don't think that it means very much at NH for other than the usual *G "perks".
