Air New Zealand Air Points - Air New Zealand Lounge At Sydney - Great For Planespotters!!!

I was flying back from Sydney to the USA on Delta Airlines in September. Because Delta does not have a lounge at SYD, they have arranged for their BusinessElite customers to use the Air New Zealand lounge. As an avid planespotter, I was pleasantly surprised to find a fantastic view of the field from the lounge. See some sample views below:

Glad you enjoyed the NZ SYD lounge. It is one of my favourites too.

I agree 100%. SYD is my hometown airport and I use the lounge a few times a year and the views are fantastic, as is the lounge itself.

Another good lounge for views is LAX.

AKL is woeful - there used to be half decent view but with the redevelopments over the last few years, there are no decent views whatsoever

I agree with you on AKL. It was not very good for spotting from the Lounges. Indeed, the Emirates lounge had no windows at all. I had to wait until I got to the gate to take a video of the A380 that I was boarding. I did get some nice views on the pushback and taxi though.

Emirates Auckland Lounge is very boring, however it can be fairly empty at times :D

And NZ Domestic Koru Club at Auckland is only marginally better for runway views than International. Pity that both the "flagship" lounges for NZ at home hub are no longer positioned for runway views.

At domestic just go down the far end from the entrance. Great windows there.

I have not been to the NZ lounge in SYD for ages, since I have access to the QF Flounge most of the time.

Well that Star lounge was only temporary. Delta is now using Malaysia's lounge....more appropriate as they are potentially joining Skyteam. :-)
