Budget Travel - Any secrets to Allegiant air fares?

I know fares are based on some complicated formula but Allegiants fares seem to change on a regular basis and I am trying to figure out if there is a way to predict if a fare will go up or down. They show a seating chart when you start a reservation but since most of the seating is open, first come first serve, it's hard to tell how many seats are available. I wonder if it can be predicted based on number of "reservable" seats. I have not checked on the sites that show seats such as the seat guru site. Do they include low cost carriers?

Book far out or close in. Fares vary based on booking level. Buy the insurance if you want to be able to cancel and rebook at a lower fare sans the lost cost of insurance.
