KLM Flying Dutchman - AMS - LHR 150 mins minimum bag drop? Really?

KLM is a new experience for me, I'm usually a bmi boy. Rather enjoyed the flight over and T4 looks a bit more cheerful these days (y).

But looking at my online BP for the return leg AMS - LHR it quotes a minimum bag drop time of 150 minutes? What are they going to do, dry clean all my stuff before chucking it in the hold :D

Is this actually enforced and if not, what is the "real" minimum based on peoples experience?

I wouldn't stress it. According to the Dutch version of their website, the latest you can check in at AMS is thirty minutes before a European flight, or 60 minutes before a non-European flight. There can be long lines at both the check-in machines and at passport control, especially during a vacation week like now. I've always found that 90 minutes before the flight is completely stress-free and leaves enough time to look around the shops airside or go to the lounge without it being too long a wait.
