Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Have the F & J price drop filled the seats?

Over the last few months the F prices LHR/BKK have been promoted at a £1000 discount to circa £2350 (other than peak Christmas period) with similar bargains in J.
Any regulars noticed numbers up in these cabins.
Also noticed no availability in F on certain flights over holiday period, at normal excursion prices.
Planning a 6 PAX family trip in early 2010 so hope the discounting continues.

Numbers seem fairly consistent to me on LHR-BKK. Trailfinders have some excellent TG fares in F&C at the moment to BKK and beyond. I booked exactly what I wanted for March 2010 a couple of days ago with no problems at all.

It's hard to tell really but based upon my 2 x F sectors BKK-LHR this month, the answer is....no. All of 3 x F pax on both occasions, myself & Ms NoY being x 2 of them! J was far from full too.

Hi there

Are there some online web-sites one can book these special F/J TG fares?

I could not find these good deals from TG's web-site.

Thanks.

We are seeing little movement on price on MEL-LHR (CDG)
Other Asian carriers, esp SQ and CX are undercutting TG at the moment, it's a crazy scenario. SQ and CX have a lot of seats to fill, for example out of MEL, these carriers have to fill 8 planes, TG has to fill 2. TG are not pro active, they let their competition get a head start, then they try to turn back the tide.

Overall my observation is the airports I travel through are as busy as ever, the economy section is packed to the gills, and first and business in these regional areas are 30-40% utilized. Most trips to Asia there are 8 other paxs in C. TG will have to reduce more to compete, otherwise they will lose their business travellers, the whole ball park is changing in these parts. regards bkkrop

I have been flying from FRA to BKK recently in F en back in C.
Next week we will be flying FRA-BKK-YGN in C and will be coming back in F.
On both occasions I tried to book F all the way, but could not since F was fully booked.
When I returned BKK-FRA two weeks ago, both F and C were literally full and Y was half empty. The FA told me that this was the result of the special prices that are being offered.
Theoretically this would only last until October, but I have seen that it goes on until next March. You can only book these flights through travel agents, not directly with Thai.

This is the link:

It’s in German, but it should be very easy to understand. And the travel agent can communicate in English. This time it’s only for two people booking the same itinerary. Before it was even slightly cheaper when travelling together and you could also have very favourable prices when travelling alone. The price also includes a limo transfer to Bangkok, Hua Hin or Pattaya on arrival in Thailand.

Hi,

My recent experience of a Thursday night TG917 LHR-BKK in late october was J was full upstairs, and no chance to try using my 'Birthday Upgrade' at checkin as apparently F was full as well.

Regards, Graham

I came back to LHR on TG916 on Sunday and there was 4 of us in F (no annoying last minute freebies for a change ^), 20 in J and the Y was apparently 50%. The flight back was full according to crew. My TG917 the week before was full in F, almost in J and almost in Y.

I note Trailfinders are advertising another TG offer at the moment.

For TG 920 BKK-FRA Monday this week availability was 4 4 4 4 4. It turned out to be very full in J (only one seat left) -I have no idea about Y and F.
