Do we need a car to get around if we are staying at the Savannah Westin? What are the best things to do and places to eat in Savannah?
Not necessarily, but you will be dependant on the ferry since you will be acrosss the river from Savannah. The city itself is quite walkable. There is also a hop-on hop-off bus service that is very reasonable (I think I used Oglethorpe Tours). Lots of restored Colonial-era homes to visit and good restaurants all over. Check out websites like tripadvisor and virtualtourist for suggestions.
