A few weeks ago I was trying to make seat selections on 2 KL flights and was unable to do so online. It would say that the request was pending but then the change never stuck. Even on the day of check in online, i was not able to change my seat.
The other thing that seemed odd is that the agent at the airport had to get her supervisor to override a seat assignment for me because she kept getting a message saying "customer not entitled to this seat"
At the time I was ST Elite (DL Gold), but have since made Platinum. Are all ST Elites not equal? Will my change in status help with this issue in the future?
