Flying Blue (Air France & KLM) - NYC-LYS Using Award - Help please!

Hi all,

Currently have 44k miles in FB which I need to burn, have enough MR points to top up to 50k, and the goal is to go NYC-LYS, December 23 and return CDG-NYC on January 3 (or 4th), but the best I'm seeing for this itinerary is 50,000 miles each way, which seems a poor value for miles, (or course, redeeming in economy is a bad value in general, but I'm trying to save some $$$ rather than get value.)

Any tips for how to make this work?

chances are pretty much below zero. If you want x-mas travel on award you better book 10 months in advance. They might open up some seats once it gets really close, but flights after 12/16 are usually pretty full.
