Emirates Airlines Skywards - Miles claimed when flying on upgraded business

I recently flew JFK to DXB round trip. The ticket was originally purchased economy and on return leg of the flight, I was able to upgrade using the miles. Upon arrival home, I checked the skywards website and noticed that I still earned the miles based on economy even though I flew on business class, albeit on an upgraded ticket.
When I called skywards customer service, I was told that terms and conditions of the upgrade is clear on that I would earn economy miles despite the upgrade. Is this true? Where can I see this terms and conditions explaining this?

you earn miles based on ticket purchased. can't remember where i read it, but i've never had the extra miles when upgrading, only the amount that equals the ticket i actually purchased.

Don't know where I've read it in the Skywards material either, but receiving miles based on class of ticket purchased (as opposed to upgraded class) seems to be standard practice on many (if not all) airlines.

I had the same experience.
Tickets were purchased by an employer (FRA-CHC return in economy)
Upgraded with miles to business.
Was quoted online at Skywards in my itinerary that I would receive the business class points for these flights now that I had upgraded. Was quite shocked, but after signing in and out of the website for various reasons over a few days it still stated the Business Class points so I set off quite pleased!
Once I arrived in Christhurch the points were allocated as Economy points.
Quite disappointed. Got on the phone to Skywards and told them the situation. I believe that if you are quoted as receiving something then you should get what is stated....(take for example in a store, if you take something to the counter which is ticketed as $20 but then scans up as $35 you must be given it for the ticketed price - at least that has always been my experience in NZ) as you can imagine, they wouldn't have a bar of it, so I suggested that they update whatever software problem was causing this so-called "mistake" as it was called before others complained about the same thing. The woman I spoke to got a bit uncomfortable and after about 40mins was able to direct me to the T&C's page.
So, here it is....

It is clause 2.10 that we are interested in
Would be interesting to see if anyone else has had the same problem as this. In hindsight I wish I had printed off the page with the quoted miles as proof. I suggest that anyone who upgrades a ticket goes and looks at their Skywards itinerary-I'm no lawyer, but surely there is some grounds for concern there....???....
Note: Just realised this sounds like I'm beating up on EK...not the case at all!...they are by far my favourite carrier...

Slightly off topic but still on the subject of being quoted one thing and then being charged another, earlier this year I purchased F tickets direct with EK. When the fare was reduced later in the year I was initially told if I wanted to take advantage of the lower fare, I had to cancel my tickets at a cost of 200 sterling per pax and subsequently advised it was 100 sterling per pax. Only when I emailed EK a copy of the fare conditions of my ticket did they accept that the cancellation fee was 75 sterling per pax. Don't want to knock EK either but you have to stand your ground occasionally.
