Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Arrive: SFO - Depart: LAX --> Cheapest Car rental

I plan on flying in to SFO and leave from LAX with a 1 week rental in between. It appears that most of the rentals are prohibitively expensive due to the one-way drop-off free. Many of the large providers are costing somewhere in the $700-800 range.

I found 2 smaller providers, Fox Rent a Car and SuperCheap who both are quoting me around $450. My question is, is there anything cheaper out there anyone has used before, or is this what one pays for the convenience of a multi-stop destination. Let me know ASAP.

Thank you all.

What is always suggested is to do the one-way rental for one day either at the beginning or end of the trip. If it's at all possible to do, that's what I would suggest. If SFO is cheaper for the week than LAX, then pick up a car from SFO and then do a one-way at the end to get to LAX.

I did rent from SFO returning at Long Beach in Aug. Rented from Budget, at about $35/d, no drop off fee. It was the same wether returning to Long Beach (249 E Ocean Blvd #104, Long Beach LG2) or LAX.

Instead of renting from SFO, I rented from a location in 1133 Chess Dr, Foster City, 650-287-2680. For a 3-day rental, saved about $40 in fees that they only charge for renting from an airport location. Total was $106+9.85=$116.35.

Maybe that's still available. Forgot which code I used to get that rate.
