So I got this card last week, but am a bit confused about how the thing works.
Last week I received the card, called them up to activate and all seemed well. Over the weekend I spent about 500 bucks on tickets, so I was curious about the miles. I should get 12.5k bonus miles and 1000 (500*2) miles for the money spent..however that does not seem to happen overnight? (Like the flights)
When I login to americanexpress.nl, choose to list the card saldo, it returns 0. No charges made. Is that common? When signing up I specifically asked if their website would be updated in real time, and I was told it should update every few hours. How are your experiences on that?
Second thing is the miles. Will those be credited per purchase or at the end of the month at once?
Their website also lets me sign up for the membership rewards. I'm unsure what this means, I thought the flying blue thing is the reward program? Should I try to (also?) sign up for the Membership program?
I realize these questions might be a bit on the 'doh' level, but both the amex and klm/flying blue websites are incredibly confusing about these matters :(
Thanks!
