Travel Technology - Acer Aspire One microphone doesn't work.

I am now in Croatia with my Aspire One AOA150 and want to call home via Skype, but the built-in microphone doesn't work. I downloaded the Realtek driver and the mic still doesn't work. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

My feeling is that you can't expect much from a $279 computer. I wouldn't worry about it. Just use a plug-in mic.

My mic works fine. I regularly use it with Skype since my BT adapter went on the fritz. Another option is to plug in a pair of headphones into the mic jack and talk into the ears. It should work.

Are you sure the mic is busted? Have you tested using sndrec32.exe to see if maybe it is something in Skype that isn't registering the mic correctly?
