I was on the KL571 and had seat 11G reserved when I checked in. But when I got my boarding pass I was given seat 10A. On board I found out that a lady had bough the seat when she checked in online for a fee.

NICE ONE KLM.... What the hell does PE mean these days! Selling reserved seats.

Should I contact KLM about this??

I was waiting for that case since the introduction of paying seating.

The rule has always been clear : if an Elite does not pre-book a seat, he takes the risk to see "his" seat bought buy a non-elite.

Obviously that is not your case.

I see then two options :
- a computer glitch, always possible, specially with AF/KL
- a new offcial policy : possible future elite customers (those who pays for exit rows) are more important than existing elite customers (specially LTPE)

A call to KLM will certainly enlight you, and us !

Hi all,

Not knowing the plane type for KL571, could this be related to the introduction of ComfortEconomy? Did you have more legroom than usual?

Cheers,

@ GenevaFlyer. It was a 772. Old cabin. 11G and 11C are the 2 Y chairs who have none in front. 2nd row in the cabin.

Those seats are not for sale as far as I know.
So must be a computer glitch, or the other person was put there manually by someone with a authority to overrule the seats that were prereserved.
(by the way, KLM does not guarantee seat reservations, and can reseat for operational or safety reasons - that's their "escape")
