The best thing about the hotel is its location at the top of the Spanish Steps. Other sights like Borghese gardens, fashion district Via Condotti or underground station are close. There is also an elevator up to the street where the hotel is located - no need to go always up/down through the crowd sitting on the Spanish Steps.
The rooms are rather small - even the suites. I received an upgrade to a suite with a huge terrace. The room was rather standard and the bathroom a bit old - really nothing to rave about. But the view was so amazing - just to sit on the terrace with some drinks and enjoy the view. The Royal Ambassador perks had been granted without any problem (upgrade, welcome gift (wine, fruits), late check-out, free minibar).
The hotel has a small fitness center but no pool.

Nice pics! The terrace in the pics is part of your room or belongs to the restaurant on the rooftop?

Once they upgraded me to a Junior suite (not a suite at all, just a bigger room) with huge terrace (2 sun-loungers, couple of chairs and a table) but without the view of Rome like the pics you took.

The other time I had another similar size junior suite right in between the two elevators. It had no balcony/terrace at all, and was quite noisy since I could hear people talking while they were waiting for the elevators. I first couldn't find the room since I didn't expect there was a room right between the 2 elevators. besides, the door/entrance didn't look obvious and thought it was part of the decoration or storage room. Silly me.:D

Just want to know if any RA got a real suite with real seperate bedroom when booked the cheapest room?

The pics were made from the terrace of the room.
The 1st, 2nd and 5th picture shows the terrace of the room while pictures 3 and 4 show the view from there. (Picture 16 shows the location of the terrace from the street level.)

Thx for the review and pictures. I have made reward reseravtions at the Marriott, Westin, and the IC for next Sep, but had decided to go with the IC, and now I'm sure. From reviews, it seems all the hotels have small old rooms....

See also my post here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12679591-post109.html). I think my stay may have overlapped with LH738's!
