Hi Everyone...!!

I just want to inform that the lounge KLM & Air France at the Terminal 1 in Mexico City Airport now is with American Express Lounge becuse Aeromexico Lounge is underconstrucction...!!!!!

But the American Express Lounge is nice but the service is with Aeromexico staff, so food, drinks, etc is from Aeromexico and is now terrorific...!!!! Belive me...!!! I was there but there is just two tables with a few food, a few drinks, and if you want to take a coffe or the, you need to buy in the machine that American Express have into the lounge.

In these terminal 1, there is 2 lounges American Express ( one American Express Centurion, more nice, more food, more drinks but just for people who have a special credit card with American Express and the other is also American Express for a holders that have just the a normal american express credit card. )

So, if you are in Mexico, dont expect more that before when it was Aeromexico Lounge...!!!!!

Does anyone know the proposed dates of completion of the Aeromexico lounge?

I was last time in Mexico City Airport( Last weekend ) and I flow with Air France and I was asking them if the lounge is with Amexican Express or where , so the nice lady say that Aeromexico Lounge will be operating next year but she dont know tha dates ( March or April ) but not sure. And also she say that passanger with AF in First Class going to special lounge to the Hotel Hilton at the airport and they have a escorts to go to segurity check that make fast that the normal passangers.

Travellers in Business and FB travellers going to the American Express Lounge, KLM travellers in WBC and FB travellers the same.

Also I was in Business Class with AF and when I was at the lounge American Express, I asking to the Aeromexico staff and they confirm that the Aeromexico Lounge will take long time but the Aeromexico staff is not so happy for to give the service into the American Express Lounge becuse is juts a small tables, not a lot food, not a lot drinks and many passangers are not to happy with all that situation.

I flew with AF First ex Mex in 2 weeks ago and they gave me a voucher to the Mexicana lounge(the same one that I had used in the past when flying Mexicana biz class). Nothing was mentioned at check in about the Hilton hotel or to be escorted through security

There seems to be some confusion here: AF is currently in T1, AM is in T2. The terminals are across the field from each other, so you can't go from one to the other. The AM lounge is alive and well in T2, and IIRC AF will move to T2 at some point. I really doubt that there is an AM lounge under construction at T1. MX/Mexicana is in T1, so the above poster's experience does seem logical.

I have not flown to MEX before. I shall be flying KL AMS-MEX on 20 November and will be there for a week. My understanding is that I shall depart from MEX T1. According to the KL site I would use the Aeromexico lounge:
http://www.klm.com/travel/gb_en/travel_information/at_the_airport/lounges/worldwide_locations.htm

It does not state the terminal.

The AF site has Mexico (2) which I assume means T2. Since AF and KL fly from T1, it is a bit confusing.

Since Aeromexico flies from T2, my assumption is that I would check in at T1, take the shuttle train to T2 for the lounge and the shuttle back to T1 for the flight.

Anyone know what is going on please?

Note to mods: I think this should be in the AF or KL forum as it has nothing to do with FB.

We talk above just the LOUNGE at the terminal 1 or T1 in Mexico City, in the past all travellers with AF and KLM after check-in, they got a voucher for the Aeromexico Lounge in the Terminal 1 ( just passangers travelling with AF and KLM ).

Aeromexico flights leaving from terminal T2 and also there is two lounges there but if you are travelling with AF or KLM you have to be at the terminal 1 ( T1 ).

Now just the LOUNGE where you can relax, etc is underconstrucction ( these was or is Aeromexico Lounge at the terminal 1 ) and now all passangers travelling with AF and KLM in Business Class and FB travellers get the voucher for the American Express Lounge at the terminal 1 ( just pax travelling in First Class with a paid ticket, they get a special voucher for the lounge at the Hotel Hilton at the Airport in the Terminal 1 ) ( these information I got with the lady in the my last trip at the check-in, also she say that passangers with awards tickets in First, they goin to or Mexicana Lounge ( If there is places free ) or American Express Lounge like that others passangers.

brian1042 if you travelling from Ams-MEX-Ams with KLM, you will arriving at the T1, and also Depart from the T1 but for the LOUNGE at the T1, you have to go to the American Express lounge becuse the other lounge ( service provide for aeromexico at the T1 is not working at the moment. )

Bob´sYourUncle: For your information AF and KLM are in T1 and Aeromexico is at the T2, but if you read here, we talk above just the service lounge at the Terminal 1 ( Aeromexico have two nices lounges at the T2 )

AF and KLM give a vouchers to travellers FB and Business Class to the Aeromexico Lounge at the T1 ( it was in the past these lounge but when Aeromexico changed the terminal, they give just the service but there is not passangers with Aeromexico )

Now these lounge is undercontrucction and KLM and AF used American Express Lounge at the T1.

" I really doubt that there is an AM lounge under construction at T1 "

These lounge is at the neat to the Gate 19 at the International Area at the T1

Thanks Zug.

Someone at AF should sort out the information on site (nothing new there). They indicate that it is the Aeromexico lounge at T2 (though my flight arrives at and depart from T1).

I think Mexico (2) means Mexico (2 lounges) and not Mexico (T2) because other airports have similar numbers when multiple lounges.

Ah! This explains everything. There must be a ST lounge at T1 and one at T2. From the OP it is the T1 Aeromexico lounge that is now closed and I would have to use the substitute loung there (T1) not the lounge at T2.

+1

All AM operation is out of T-2 so it makes no sense to have an AM lounge in T-1. For T-1 there will probably be a SkyTeam Lounge, but not an AM one. T-2 has two AM lounges plus and AMEX Lounge.

Flyer IAH : I fly these route ( AMS-MEX-AMS OR CDG-MEX-CDG ) many times and in the past if you know:

At the T1 is a Aeromexico Lounge ( before aeromexico changed to the T2 ) and still is there becuse KLM and AF need the service for the travellers in Business Class and FB traveller but for long time ago is closed ( underconstrucction and maybe they will change the name but untill now, there is not information )

At the T1 there is not Skyteam lounge....Just it was in thes past ( KLM used the UNITED lounge and AF used Aeromexico Lounge all at the T1 ), then, come Skyteam ( KLM & AF and all Airlines ), so the used Aeromexico Lounge at the gate 19 in the international area at the T1.

Now, Aeromexico is a the T2 ok but in still was the Aeromexico Lounge open at the gate 19 at the T1 for passangers travelling with KLM and AF.

Also Now KLM give a vouchers for the American Express Lounge becuse the Lounge at the T1 ( aeromexico gate 19 is underconstrucction ) and AF send a passangers in business class to the mexicana lounge at the T1 and First Class passangers with paid ticket going to the Hilton Lounge Hotel, the others have to go to the or Mexicana Lounge or American Express Lounge.

Flew in First in June (award ticket). I think I was escorted through security to the Mexicana lounge. And made my own way to the plane.

Well 20 Nov is not far off and I am sure it will be an interesting experience.

I am astounded that in the business lounge one has to *buy* coffee! That is outrageous.

yes, at the longue of American Express there is two coffe machines that you have to buy if you have mexican coins becuse if not, not coffe.

I saw in my last time people asking to the American Express staff for change or coins, so you will see.

For the others , just paid tickets with AF in First Class , all these passangers going to the Hilton Lounge, awards going to mexicana lounge.

Flew out of MEX yesterday, but fortunately on BA. Correct airport info online, lounge invitation with map on reverse side, no hassles.

Thank you FB for sending me straight into the arms of the competition.

What would you really expect for 5 times the Y award ticket, anyway? Lounge access? This is FB we're speaking of.

Edit to clarify: this is a prime example of the stupid cost-cutting measure going on at AF. I don't know how much a day use of Hilton's lounge (which is certainly not wonderful to begin with) but the few people still flying award tickets at their current price are certainly people getting miles on paid business/first tickets. The ones wanting to "taste the product" marketed as excellence by AF will certainly be disappointed to be sent to the Mexicana business lounge (which is flattering for Mexicana, their biz offering at MEX is deemed to be an absolutely wonderful experience by AF) and people used to fly paid F will certainly find it incredibly insulting not to be treated fairly when they cash in their reward for spending tens of thousands on F tickets...

This is on par with F treatment at EZE: so subpar that it makes you laugh when you read the AF brochure about their product.
