Virgin flying club - MH Award availability using FC points

Now that it's not possible to get SQ premium awards I thought that MH might be a good bet. So I joined MH FF club to see if I could determine award availability - the information is very limited and only goes out to a 3 month window.

Does anyone know any other way to determine availability online and/or how easy is to secure premium award seats on MH using FC points.

Of course ex-SYD to Europe I can always use VS but that only gets me to LHR then I must buy a separate ticket (and deal with the transfer hassle) to get to another European destination.

I know I can call Virgin but my query is more of a general nature (ie is this a feasible approach) - I would need to give the call center exact dates then call back 24 hours later for an answer (unless this has changed in the past 12 months).

For Star Alliance airlines and a few others, the best award search method I've found is throght ANA. You can get a free membership and do a search for any airline. I looked at MH and it appears that most of their flights just show "Request available" rather than a confirmed award seat.

I would suggest calling VS and seeing what they say on the award option with MH. Or alternatively if they provide no help, call MH direct and ask them.
