Picked up a car a few weeks back and realized they had me listed as 5*. I've been Pres all of 2009 so I called CS and they told me they think the computer only looks at # of rentals in the previous year.
For 2008, I had 32 rentals, 157 days and well over $8,000+ billed. Because I didn't meet the 40 rentals, the computer downgraded me. CS immediately reinstated my status but it makes no sense to me if Hertz has three qualification measures (rentals, days or cost) why doesn't the computer know if any are met.
In the end, just watch your status when you pick up each rental.
