Hi,

I am a qualified Hyatt Diamond member until Feb 2011 now. I am wondering if I can get tier status match at some other competative hotel program?

Thanks

Rubal

It depends on how you achieved Diamond.
If it was a status match, and you only have only stayed 1 or 2 nights, or none as of yet, you will not be able to get a status match with another chain.

Usually, the other competitor will ask you to fax in a statement of stays, as evidence.

If however, you got diamond by staying the required nights with Hyatt, you should get a status match with virtually every other competitor.

Most forums have a status match thread with plenty of detail in to read.

This is what my statement says :

*Qualified Stays YTD: 18
Tier: Diamond Member
*Qualified Nights YTD: 44
Tier Expiration: 28 Feb 2011
Lifetime Points Earned: 226,245

Do you think I'll qualify?

Also could someone point me to exact status match thread from competitors?

Yes, you probably will qualify. But bear in mind that you will get only ONE status match in each other program. Thus, I would advise you not to match with every program if you don't really need it @:-)

You need to look in the MilesBuzz forum. There is a hotel status match master thread there.

Please mind (http://goldpassport.hyatt.com/gp/en/benefits/terms_conditions_details.jsp?content_id=4190&cat_id=16&wt=) that Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond membership will be given to Hyatt Gold Passport members who, in the course of one calendar year (January-December), record a minimum of 25 Hyatt stays or 50 Hyatt nights [...]. Therefore your tier extension to 2/11 was granted either manually or you did participate in a promotion.

Then your status is really not earned the old fashioned way. However, I don't think you'll have any problems since you did stay a lot. As already pointed out, status matches are once in a lifetime events so don't go crazy and match to all programs at once, especially this late in the year. You want have a lot of time to sample them all before deciding which one(s) you want to keep next year.
