I've probably stayed at 3 US Holiday Inns in the last 5 years and all of them have been ancient. Morristown, TN certainly is. I'd estimate it was built in the 60's and it has been kept as a historical property. The lobby is central to the building and there is a nice enough looking restaurant offering a free cooked breakfast for guests off the lobby. In a corner of the lobby is the business center; a desk with computer and printer. Wifi was reasonably fast.

The wing where I stayed was not connected to the main building but the outdoor walk is covered. This wing is sunk into the ground. It is open on the back and front but the front windows look out on a grassy trench - the parking lot is above ceiling level. I was in 131, in the back. Corridors are on the interior.

The rooms have a sink and hanger rack in the room (no closet) with a second sink in the bathroom. There was a desk and small refrigerator, with a chair and ottoman in the corner, touching one of the 2 queen beds. TV was large, not HD.

My rate was negotiated by my client at $64. I watched a walk-in get socked with the "Manager's special" rate of $94 at 8:30 in a hotel that appeared 3/4 full.

As retro as the place was, it was remarkably clean everywhere and furniture and mattress appeared to be newish and in good shape.
