We are flying Klm From BRS-AMS Then Onward to MCO with Martinair.
On Klm's Website it doesn't Clearly State the checked baggage allowance for their cityhopper flights, and whether the luggage can be checked through to the destination [MCO] or Do we have to re-claim luggage at AMS and check in again?
Any Ideas? :)
Thanks

You will be able to check your bags at BRS all the way through to MCO (easy if both legs are on one reservation). The allowance should be the MP TATL allowance, which is significantly more than the KLC allowance. Note that outbound it will be ServisAir at BRS to check you in so you may have to be prepared to argue a bit but the TATL allowance will apply also for your 'feeder' from BRS
Check http://www.martinair.com/nl_en/services/beforedeparture/baggage.aspx
For your flight it will be 2 pieces, each less than 23 kg. Note that from 1 November the KL TATL allowance will go down to 1 piece but that the MP website does not mention this.
More info on the KL website (including the reference to the piece concept applying on connecting flights) at http://www.klm.com/travel/nl_en/about/news_press/travel_news/floatingnews/New_baggage_rules.htm
Do verify on your e-ticket which will refer to the allowance by either stating 20 or PC (20 kg or piece ie TATL allowance).
The BRS-AMS route is operated by KLC with F70/F100 aircraft with relatively little space for handbagage. And these flights have been quite full in recent months in my experience. Any large handbags will therefore be labelled Delivery at Aircraft and taken at the steps of the plane. They will be delivered at the steps in AMS again but don't pack any essentials in your handbag - or take a (really) small additional one for the essentials.
Flights from BRS arrive AMS next to gate D6 - if you're lucky the MP flight will depart at D2 or D4 (they sometimes do but it is not consistent). If you're less lucky you might have to go to the G -pier. There will be no passport control to pass but they will do a document check at the gate before the gate security check.
Happy travel!

Previous poster is correct.
MP and KLM have through check-in agreement so provided it's in one ticket you should be fine.
And since a few months there are KLM ground staff handling MP flights as well at AMS.

still having problems with getting the right info. recent e mail from klm stated 1 x 20kg as checked luggage .
so to re-iterate outbound 13/02/10 We are flying Klm1046 From BRS-AMS Then Onward to MCO with Martinair.MP635
Return MP636 20/02/10 MCO-AMS then KLM1053 on 21/02/10
I know we are ok for checked luggage through to MCO on the outward , but is the return the same. I know there is plenty of time till we go , but these luggage rules are a nightmare
Any Ideas?
Thanks
