I notice from an old account statement that I accrued elite miles (100%) for a return flight on VS.

Yet the SQ website states: "KrisFlyer Elite Gold status will be yours when you achieve 50,000 Elite miles in any class of service on Singapore Airlines, SilkAir or any Star Alliance airline during your Elite Silver membership year, and credit them to your KrisFlyer account."

No mention of VS.

Did I accrue the elite miles in error?

I believe VS miles still credit towards KF Elite status, the only thing that changed was the PPS accrual, that is gone from VS flights.

This was discussed back in March

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singapore-airlines-krisflyer/931935-do-miles-earned-vs-qualify-towards-kf-elite-status.html

The website is confusing and SQ do not actively promote it as a benefit, but the answer is YES, flights on VS do accrue elite miles with Krisflyer.

I flew VS in June and like yourself received elite miles for the trip.
