last time i booked an award ticket dub-cdg-rio air france called me and told me that the time was too short in cdg (50 mins) and i would have to take the earlier flight. this was no problem.

now my agency in brasil has booked me on the same flight with the same 50 min connection. i contacted them and they tell me the minimum time is 50 mins (according to af brasil), yet i called af dublin and they tell me its a mistake in the system and the flight with the 50 min connection shouldnt be able to be booked.

the agency say its 100dollars to change, but considering i dont think i should have to pay anything. the question is (i leave tonight) if i miss the connection will i still get the hotel etc or are they likely to state the flight (same ticket) was within the allowed minimum connection?

cheers in advance!

IMHO, your Irish travel agent is wrong.

The 50 mn connecting time from DUB to GIG thru CDG is the normal one (it is sold by AF).

If your plane is late, and if you cannot make the connection, AF will protect your reservation (next flight to GIG and hotel, because I suppose you will use AF 442).

Hi,

Are you Elite+ or flying in C? If so you should be ok as you can use the fast track IF AF shouldn't pick you up when disembarking your first flight...

I have been allowed to make bookings from DUB via CDG with a 45 min connection time, but have always choosen a longer connection time. This said, AF usually will pick you up at the arriving flight and get you to the connecting flight in private vans.

IF you should miss your connection, they (AF) will get you to your final destination and not at your expense. Don't worry, AF (IMHO) are good at that ^

cheers guy.

i am platinum so should be okay i guess, only worry is the length of time the bus can take as its city jet from dublin.

good to know they will take care if me in paris, my only concern is i connect onto montevideo from rio, its on the same booking on the af site but looks like different tickets...weŽll see

my first post on here was if it was common to get any extra benefits when a platinum member - well so far - the lounge! :)

...and fast track and better seats on the 747 without extra cost when checking in online :)

As CityJet parks out in the middle of nowhere AF is usually waiting for connecting PAX at the steps if you have a tight connection. Besides, you don't have to go through immigration as you won't be entering Schengen between DUB-CDG-GIG ^ You're fine, even with the connection at GIG!!! Don't worry and enjoy the lounge at 2E. It's quite nice in my opinion (go to the left for a brighter lounge)...

Btw, have you been to the Anna Livia Lounge at DUB? It's HORRIBLE (Gold and Plat members have access on AF ticket) so stay clear if you can... Typical 80's DUB design, service and layout...

true enough although i cant get the upper deck on the 747 as its been full aparently for 10 days!

the dublin lounge i dont even bother with - considering the number of cityjet flights youŽd have thought they would have got their own or insisted on an upgrade.
