Yup! Got their mail earlier today as part of 4 other new partners (non-airline). This is great news!

9W and IT were both partners with Northwest Airlines which is now owned and operated by Delta Airlines.

These partnerships continue with some modification, such as that of IT flights no longer being good toward elite status earning if credited to Delta accounts.

Really? Are 9w flights eligible for Delta elite status at least?

9W flights were not eligible for elite status earning when credited to NW accounts and 9W flights still are not eligible for elite status earning when credited to DL accounts.

IT flights were eligible for elite status earning when credited to NW accounts but are no longer eligible for elite status earning when credited to DL accounts.

Assume DL won't allow Skymiles redemption for 9W first class though...?

don't know the answer to that but 9w only has first class on their london sector so del - lhr or mum - lhr....in all other routes the highest class is business (or première class as they like to call it)...

Still absurdly restrictive with fare basis?

By first do you mean 9W's Premiere?

No. You need AA miles to get redemptions in 9W F.

You sure? AA website states that 9W is NOT a member of the Aadvantage program. They code share, but apparently don't participate in any kind of reciprocal FF agreement.

The list of participating airlines on the AA partner award chart page has not been updated to include Jet, but one has been able to redeem miles on Jet for at least a year now.

you beat me to it.

I would also like to add that IMO lhr-bom/del F class on Jet is the biggest bargain in FF world. 80K + £120 taxes (Much less if your transitting from another european country!)

I love AAdvantage, i will be a lifetime gold and eventually plat without setting foot on an AA aircraft! ^

Thanks to both of you for the tip about AA and Jet. I read the Aadvantage stuff on the AA site, but got tricked by the missing logo on the list of partners page.

News I can use: another -- and maybe better -- option than BA, GF, or AY between UK/Europe and India, using AA miles...........

Indeed -- and even before that AA miles could be used for S2 (Sahara) flights.

Someone at Aadvantage must be reading this blog. Since yesterday, the language at the Jet Airways entry on the AA site has been changed, and now explicitly says that AA miles can be redeemed on Jet Airways and JetConnect, but not JetLite...............

It seems as though FT virtually dictates policies everywhere!

I dunno if we moved a policy change -- as y'all said, AA redemptions have been allowed on 9W for quite a while.

But something moved 'em to re-write the website entry -- it's actually all been re-written, so that the earning of miles as well as the redemptions are now clear, and sub-carrier specific.

Must be the forum Karma -- my compliments!

9W flights were not eligible for elite status earning when credited to NW accounts They used to be, before Kingfisher came into the picture - had a lot of NW EQM earned from Jet flights, about 10 years ago.

Every mile that passes through your account including promos, bonuses, sign ups, hotel points conversions, credit card earnings, partner flights, purchase miles etc etc counts towards lifetime status and i am doing very well in earning miles without stepping on an AAircraft.

If i actually flew AA for MRs (slight possibility in the future!), i could do a hell of a lot more in a shorter time. Im actively saving miles for a trip to Tahiti and a RTW!

great program to join. The new one way awards are pretty useful! as is the ridiculously low mileage requirement for europe-ME/SE asia requirements!

eg. LGW-MLE rtn in BA J class only 60K miles + £150 taxes.

Hang on, partner miles? So I get Jet AND AA miles too?

Hang on, partner miles? So I get Jet AND AA miles too?You have to credit to AA to get their miles (probably non-EQM, unless it's a code-share with AA) or to Jet to get tier points, and forget AA miles/credit.

No wonder it sounded too good to be true !
