JAL Mileage Bank - Seating in C for JL 404 LHR-NRT

Spent the morning doing searches and various research, but still couldn’t find an answer. Hope someone can help out.
I’ll be taking JL404 or JL402 LHR-NRT in early December. 404 is better for me time-wise but it doesn’t seem there is F class on that aircraft. What is the aircraft configuration for 404? I checked SeatGuru and SeatExpert and neither shows a 777 configuration for international flights with only C and no F. I went to the JAL website and it shows there are three configurations for the 777-200ER --- W51, W50 and W32 (gosh, the number of JAL aircraft configurations is enough to make your head spin; seems terribly inefficient to me, but that’s another topic). Which is the configuration for 404?
And does anyone have any particular seat recommendations for C on this flight?
Or is this flight served by a 777-300ER and a few lucky people who bought C class will end up with F seats?
Is F class on 402 that much better than C on 404 to make the inconvenience to me worthwhile?
Thanks!

They use 777-200ER with W51 (http://www.jal.co.jp/en/aircraft/conf/777er.html) on 403/404. That's the only one with premium economy. The other two configs, one is for long haul and one for regional flights.
The other LHR flights uses 777-300ER with W73 (http://www.jal.co.jp/en/aircraft/conf/777.html) config. So the F class is the Solo seat.

Thanks for the info JALPak.
This, however, may become a moot point after Dec 7, as an article in The Japan Times today said that JAL will halve frequency to LHR to one flight a day.

I did 404 on a 773ER last month, with a nice seat in 3K. I called JAL after booking the ticket to select that row just incase there was any chance of being in an F seat.
To be perfectly honest I found it difficult to sleep on and the IFE interfered with meals. The standard C seat would have done just fine...

Only C Class is available for booking from 07DEC09. Which I assume it's an indication of dropping JL403/404

Yes I think JL403/404 would be the ones to drop. JAL only adds those flights after axing KIX-LHR in March. But it's weird why JAL only clear out Y and PY inventory on 403 but not C? Are they trying to get people reserve a C seat on those flights and then say "sorry we cancel it but we can put you on 401 instead" :p

Same issue with JAL flights to MEX from 28MAR10. Only Business Class open but Economy class is Closed.
