San Francisco - Airforce One at SFO

Wondered if anyone had pictures they were willing to share of Air Force One &/or the President today at SFO.

You have to wonder why they elected to fly him into SFO rather than Moffett, unless the thinking is that "it's better to disrupt air travel than a longer portion of 101."

How much of a disruption is it? A presidential motorcade on 30 miles of 101 is certainly a disruption.

They apparently shut down general aviation at SFO the whole time Air Force One was on the ground there, for starters, at least according to KCBS last afternoon.

Air Force 1 having mechanical problems this morning per KRON4.
Bringing in the backup from Travis AFB I believe.

They apparently shut down general aviation at SFO the whole time Air Force One was on the ground there, for starters, at least according to KCBS last afternoon.a little late but i can confirm this as i have a friend who is a corporate f/a for ibm and they they re-routed to sjc when they found out about the "lock down" (and there went my date for the w/e ;))

But they would still have to shut down 101, as the flight path on final approach into Moffett comes right in low over 101, whereas the approach to runways 28L and R at SFO come in over the bay.
