With all these promotions out there, I was wondering what are some of the best ones people have gotten through out out their flyertalk careers? Besides the obvious pudding one, us mint, and ones where you get free points for signing up like that current AA bose promotion, what other unique ones have people got that they are proud of? I will say bank sign ups count if you had to buy something(debit card fee), credit card sign ups do not.

What you bought:
Promotion:
How many points:
Airline points were on:
Cost:
Cost per a mile:

Hopefully this is a interesting thread.

Maybe you can start with your own examples?

Cost of miles 0. As in nothing, zip, ziltch, nada.

There are a few of those deals running around right now that cost you nothing.

Do you mind sharing?

I know about following and just wondering if there is anything else:

US Mint Coin Program
Citi AA Credit Card
Chase Checking Account (But there is a cost involved for Debit card)

Thanks.

Are you a reporter or writing a paper? FT veterans are wary of newbies asking questions like this!

Traveling on an award ticket from DTW-LAX. Volunteer and get bumped for $400 airline voucher and free hotel voucher. My original flight was rebooked in Y flying next day in first class.

Is that good enough cents per mile?

This is probably more along the lines of what you want to hear:

Back in 2003 USAirways was giving away miles for flying on their Shuttle. Plus, United had just started a promotion with them and you could double dip.

I bought a $115 ticket for LGA-BOS-LGA and got 5,050 US miles and 3,000 UA miles. That was a pretty good one.
