Does anyone have the latest scoop on lounge access in DEL, CCU, BOM domestic terminals when one is neither flying in the front end of the aircraft nor has any elite status with the operating carrier's FFP?

Sometime ago the possession of certain Citibank cards was enough to gain access, but that no longer works. Does any other CC do the trick?

Gold / Plat on some other airlines works. For example 9W used to accept AF plat to let me into their lounge.

You could always pay and use the lounge...not particularly expensive...about INR 250-500, usually, which works out to US$5-10. This is per visit.

As regards Citibank cards, yes the Plat or Titanium cards allow lounge access in BOM and CCU. Diners Club cards are *slightly* more widely accepted (incl MAA, but don't know where else).

Aniruddh, how recent is your information? The last time I tried using the lounge in CCU (August 09) with a Citi Platinum card, I was told that facility was no longer available. Also, there was no way to pay for access.

Do US based cards work? I have pretty much every variation of VISA, MC, and AMEX, but they are all from the US.

Also, do the lounges have any sort of signs up front like they do elsewhere to indicate which cards / programs they accept?

Sep 25, 2009. I found out to my cost (because I wasn't traveling on 9W but had to use the lounge nevertheless) that this change had taken place at the MAA lounge. I called Citi immediately and they informed me that only BOM and CCU was available for Citi Plat, and the lounge staff themselves showed me their display that said only Diners was eligible for the MAA access.

Yes, normally when you enter the lounge, at the front desk. Alternatively, you could ask the staff - they normally have the correct info.
