Hertz - Can I specifically exclude vehicles with success?

I find that I am often "upgraded" into a Saturn VUE. I don't like these and others that don't provide a cargo cover screen or any concealed storage. There are others out there, but this seems to be the one that I always end up with. Is there a way to exclude a particular model from my profile so that I don't have to go back to the counter to trade out?

The only way to put in a remark that would say you didn't want a specific model would be to speak to someone and have it added to your reservation. The make/model preferences that you can add to your profile are not as specific as you would need.
I'll trade my HHR for your Vue
I have "No Kias" and "No Minivans unless requested" in my profile and last week I walked up to my spot and there was a Kia Minivan instead of a standard sized car.
So yes you can put it in your profile... but it doesn't mean anyone will ever look at it.

I've had "no domestic cars" in my profile for years, and it's ignored more often than not.

I thought about this issue when I had a Ford Escape, but then I noticed the tinted windows. Just in case someone really wanted to steal my double doggie bags from the "smaller appetites" menu at restaurants in the Midwest.

Does it actually say that in your online profile? It may be ignored because I never saw anything like those options that I could add to anyone's profile unless I specifically added it on a reservation by reservation basis. The options usually included generic stuff like prefer foreign car, prefer domestic car, etc...
If you can't see it online then someone may have just told you that they added it in even though they didn't.

In the late 90's my Suburban (with tinted windows) was broken into to get a colleague's laptop. I got the joy of finding glass periodically for the next 3 years.
This year our group has lost two laptops from rental cars. One was a brand new colleage from a recently acquired division, coming to present his products to us. Really felt sorry for him. First time he met all of us, a three hour time block, and he had nothing - the presentation, the brochures, the data - gone. His was from an Outback-ish steak place, typical suburban retail cluster, between 6-7PM, just a smash and grab and gone with two laptop bags in 15 seconds from a SUV with no hidden storage.

(sigh) People suck - period. Hertz should make sure that all of their SUV's are being equipped with visors when available, like the Rav4.

I have "No Toyotas" on my profile. And it works. Just call in to customer service and they will post it to your permanent profile. I need to call in again and ask that the Grand Marquis get excluded too. I can't stand land boats.

I have to ask - what's your beef with Toyota?
I'm not terribly picky either way, but the Corolla and Camry are very decent cars, IMHO, with the Avalon being a very nice treat on the occasions I had one. Nice rides, great mileage, and good design are evident across the line. I would rank Toyota's SUVs behind Ford's offerings.
I am not a fan of the Matrix or the smallest Yaris hatchback - I find the driver's legroom tight and the instruments poorly laid out on the Matrix, and the Yaris hatchback is just too damn small, even for one person plus a couple bags.

I have the "NO SUV" listed in my profile for just this reason, I like having a trunk to keep my laptop bag in. Plus, I don't like wasting gas for the sake of doing it. Yet at least 1/2 of the time I have a SUV in my stall. I'm hoping that Hertz will start buying more cars and get rid of the SUVs, even the small ones like the Hyundai's and Kia's get poor gas mileage, and yes, I consider anything less than 30 MPG highway poor.

I find that really funny actually! :p
They did both requested items perfectly for you
